Could you introduce yourself and say a little about your background.

G’day, I’m Bel (she/her). I was the first internationally remote volunteer for Preptrack based down in Sydney, Australia. I acknowledge the Gadigal of the Eora Nation as the traditional custodians of the place we now call Sydney and pay my respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

What do you do for work and what skills are you bringing to Preptrack?

In my professional life, I am a software engineer in the financial industry and bring these skills to my work for Preptrack as a volunteer app engineer. I have relished the opportunity to work on the features, design and testing of the Preptrack iOS app, as well as other exciting projects in the pipeline! I am particularly looking forward to the launch of Preptrack for Android later in the year and to offer the app in other languages - celebrating the diverse user base we serve.

When did you first hear about Preptrack and why did you decide to get involved?

I first worked with Sam (Preptrack’s founder) about a decade ago and felt very inspired by his drive to launch Preptrack. Sam and I work closely on all technical aspects of the app and it is a great engineering team to be a part of. The wider group of volunteers at Preptrack foster a passionate, inclusive wholesome approach to sexual health putting a typically underserved community at the heart of the mission statement; I’m very proud to be a part of that.
