Ed - Data Protection
Could you introduce yourself and say a little about your background.
Hi, I’m Ed (he/him). I’m a mathematician/software engineer by background and have worked in start-ups for the last decade. I’m passionate about using the skills I’ve developed throughout my career to make a positive difference wherever I can.
What do you do for work and what skills are you bringing to Preptrack?
I co-founded a company called Hoxton Farms in 2020. We grow real animal fat – without the animals. Starting with just a few cells, we grow purified animal fat at scale to produce a cruelty-free, sustainable and delicious ingredient for the plant-based meat industry. I’m a trustee at Preptrack and I support on strategy, fundraising, networking and data protection.
When did you first hear about Preptrack and why did you decide to get involved?
I discussed Preptrack with Sam right at the beginning! We worked as software engineers together previously and have always talked about the ways that we can use simple technology to help people make informed decisions. The opportunity to support in creating and shaping a not-for-profit that could benefit everyone, particularly the LGBT+ community, was extremely exciting for me.
